Running Cloud was born Jeremiah LaCroix to pilgriming parents crossing the Atlantic on a vessel enroute to America. Rescued and adopted at the age of two by Shoshone Indians when he was found sobbing and hungry next to his deceased mother and father on The California Trail. Jeremiah adjusted to Shoshone ways and traditions and grew to be a strong and trusted Shoshone Scout. Running Cloud was inducted into The League of Honor for endlessly assisting and saving the lives of starving, lost and dying journeyers on the same trail that he was rescued on. Mysteriously disappearing one night, Running Cloud and his horse Bleu never returned to camp. Various written reports throughout history have stated that he was spotted riding alongside William Texas Tyler and their companions at numerous locations across the country.
